Silver Strings Violin lessons are lead by Suzanne Greenlees, a musician, violin tutor and early years music leader.
Suzanne began playing the violin at her local primary school, Wallace Primary in Elderslie, at the age of 9 and her love and enthusiasm for music has grown ever since. She enjoyed attending the Junior RSAMD (now known as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) while still at school and later loved being part of the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and Camerata Scotland.
Suzanne graduated with a BA Honours in Commercial Music in 2005 and went on to complete an ABRSM Diploma in Violin Performance before training in Colourstrings Music Kindergarten and Violin tuition.
She has been running Silver Strings Violin Tuition in Renfrewshire since 2010 and has spent 4 years working as an upper strings tutor in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's (RCS) Musicworks outreach programme. She has also worked in the RCS Early Years Department as a deputy violin and musicianship tutor.
Suzanne currently divides her time between running Silver Strings Violin Tuition, working as an instrumental instructor with North Ayrshire Council and leading Colourstrings and Early Years music classes. She has spent over 10 years playing with Furory Ceilidh Band and continues to enjoy playing regular gigs with them.
She greatly enjoys teaching all ages and abilities and is committed to further developing her skills, attending training courses whenever possible. Suzanne believes you never stop learning and the more she can learn the richer the musical experience she can pass on to her pupils.
Suzanne has a PVG certificate, public liability insurance and has completed a paediatric first aid course with the Red Cross.
